Hey y’all. Thanks for hanging in there. I took a break from writing for a while to focus on my health and rejuvenate. Health is wealth baby!
With that being said, we are back to regularly scheduled programming. Additionally, I’m introducing a new column once a month that I’m calling #ForTheCulture. In it, I’ll be examining the psychological factors that contribute to the culture of various teams, organizations, and leagues—both good and bad.
When it comes to high performance, it’s important to look beyond individual factors and also consider how environmental and organizational influences contribute to excellence. Culture takes many forms, of course, but what translates to performance gains? The interplay of team dynamics, media, coaches, leadership, salary, NIL, and a host of other factors all have the potential to bring teams, organizations, and leagues together, and just as easily break them apart.
I’m curious to know how and why, and I’m excited to share my findings!
For now, I’ll prime you with a picture of Coach Prime, who’s leading the cultural shift that’s taking place at CU Boulder’s football program.
